We are a group of painters who have been working together for over ten years.
We meet weekly to work, drink tea and eat biscuits in a mutually supportive and congenial environment.
We work principally in oils, but in other media also. Our styles differ widely, so you will see an interesting selection of subjects, palettes and techniques.
We occasionally invite tutors to help us, to introduce us to new methods and to broaden our knowledge.
Our weekly meetings are in St Ippolyts, near Hitchin. In the past we have used premises in Weston, hence our name which we have retained as a legacy of our early days.
The membership, which is very informal, currently numbers twelve. We divide costs and overheads between us on an ad-hoc basis, as and when needed.
Our members have exhibited their work widely, both here in Hertfordshire but also as far afield as France and New Zealand. In the past, we have held annual exhibitions in Letchworth, and at the Mardleybury Gallery, Datchworth. We are always on the look-out for potential exhibition venues.
