A selection of works by some of our artists is shown in the gallery pages.

Most are for sale and we suggest that you contact the artist directly if you are interested.
Brief details are shown including prices.

Most of our artists are happy to undertake commissions, so a direct contact is recommended.

Membership of the Group is currently closed, but expressions of interest are always welcomed.

About US

We are a group of painters who have been working together for over ten years.

We meet weekly to work, drink tea and eat biscuits in a mutually supportive and congenial environment.
We work principally in oils, but in other media also. Our styles differ widely, so you will see an interesting selection of subjects, palettes and techniques.
We frequently invite tutors to help us, to introduce us to new methods and to broaden our knowledge.
Our weekly meetings are now held in St Ippolyts, near Hitchin. In the past we have used premises in Weston, hence our name which we have retained as a legacy of our early days.

Membership

The membership, which is very informal, currently numbers twelve. We divide costs and overheads between us on an ad hoc basis, as and when needed.

Our members have exhibited their work widely, both here in Hertfordshire but also as far afield as France and New Zealand. In the past, we have held annual exhibitions in Letchworth, and at the Mardleybury Gallery, Datchworth.  We are always on the look-out for potential exhibition venues.

Berna Broadhurst

I am eclectic in the subjects I paint, from industrial landscapes to family pets and portraits, with great enthusiasm for my subject at the time.

Cathy Tribe

Specialises in painting quirky townscapes, birds, especially ones with ‘attitude’ and still life of fruit.

Specialises in steam trains, aeroplanes and boats and has expanded his expertise to include portraiture, and landscape.
